I geek out on Godzilla pretty hard. I have every movie on DVD and over 200 collector items from toys to posters - A lot of them are super rare. :thumbsup
So yup pretty excited about this release - Already have my tickets for opening night lol |

Last one was fucking horrific!
Yet, i'm looking forward to this one. Hopefully it delivers !! :thumbsup |
That trailer did look pretty cool.
But I have a feeling that this Godzilla isn't going to team up with Gamera the flying turtle monster to fight aliens. |
Awesome.Cant wait to see it too
|
Cineplex finally added it to their schedule for next Friday :)
|
Got my ticket for IMAX 3D in Orig English.. YES !!! At first IMAX weren't to present it cause not enough demands.. I guess they got enough phone calls...
Can't wait ! |
Saw it yesterday, it sucked ass. I was really disappointed. There were a couple of cool parts, but for the most part it was worse than a slow roasted dog's ass.

The new creatures are called "Mutos." I also thought it was Rodan when I first saw the trailer, but it's not. There are two of them, male and female, and they feed on radiation. |
Well "cheesy" is hardly a dig...
Whatever they call'em, sounds like a ying/yang rodannish construct... and feed on radiation - like they're the Green Kryptonite to Godilla's Superman? Oh, and having never seen a slow-roasted dog's ass, I find it difficult to relate to your review... can you be more particular... (or less ?!?) :P :D |

Don't want to tell too much. |
Only see it in Imax! Loved it, kids were so excited and high fiving leading up to fights.

Raymond Burr was added to the original production to provide a "connection" to the anglo-American audience.
Ironically, in retrospect, his character's name was Steve Martin, if I remember correctly... :D |
I'm not sure if I'm going to watch it, it'll probably be too much predictible...

watched it late last night...good flick if you're into the genre, special effects were great imho :D
|
I had three people tell me it was fucking awesome, except to be prepared for a slow build. That's fine with me, going today.

Did they at least include the original godzilla theme song at some point? That was always the coolest tune.

Looks retarded. Perhaps it will be slightly better than the crappy Matthew Broderick version in 1998. Godzilla has a very special look, movement and charm. This just looks like "Giant Iguana Dinosaur Goes Fuckshit in City." This is just another CGI sploogefest.
|
I actually liked how the big fights were teased at first, only letting you see a little bit here and there. The final fight was spectacular, and the crowd cheered a couple of times. I wasn't even bothered by the human story, which a lot of people seem to have a problem with. It moved along pretty nice and didn't feel like a 2 hour movie at all. I give it a solid B.
It was basically an old school Godzilla movie, like the 54 version -- except with top notch special effects. |
I belive the remake of movies is generation related..... also cant wait to see the movie.
|
I love apocalyptic-movies, will watch it too. :)
|
I saw it yesterday. Ain't bad if you're not older then 20.

It sucks? Shocking! :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh
Godzilla looks like a turtle, Cranston gave em 5 minutes but they made you think he was the star - the rest of the monsters look generic...wouldn't want to scare or offend anyone, god-fucking forbid that and the story is shit...lol. And Hollywood pimp accountants have your cash. Godzilla is a franchise that lives in Tokyo. Hollywood sucks it,,,,,again. |
Man you guys saying it sucks ass must've been watching the movie on some Russian bootleg site with shitty sound.
This lived up to the hype IMO. There were some slow parts and I could care less about most of the characters, but man when Godzilla was on the screen that was at its best. The special effects were top notch and it even had that classic Godzilla feel to it when they were fighting. I totally give this movie a, 8.5 out of 10. Worth the cost of admission and the bowl of popcorn. |
Will wait for it on Netflix

Me I hope we are spared too many overly intellectual analyses about the monster. Though yes I see the "awakened nuclear" metaphor, at least in the first movies, there's for example this Daily Beast piece, which was cool, until this paragraph: "That Godzilla has persisted for 60 years is a testament to the power of that allegory in processing the cognitive dissonance required by industrialized societies dealing with the tragic intersection of unprecedented scientific advancement and lingering ethnic supremacism." I mean, ferfucksake... http://www.thedailybeast.com/article...-godzilla.html :D |
Saw it last nite. KILLER Movie!
I loved it and was thoroughly entertained. The opening sequence kicked ass, quite a bit of character dev then a killer killer finale. |
One hunnerd giant radioactive killer dinosaurs!
