Your experience with french customers...

For some reason percentage of chargebacks from french are higher... do you experience the same? Is it because of socialistic/communist mentality? So they think everything should be free provided by the government?

Because of this thread I just looked up my average income per customer for various countries and I think I would like to get more Frenchies into my sites. This is from the last 5 years, by far most customers are USA but there are enough from each country to get somewhat meaningful data: (these are in no particular order, and represent a mix of content and cam sites)

FR 114.83
US 52.11
UK 71.27
AU 66.76
MX 51.63
CA 56.50

Hello.

During the last year, our clients that have seen a significant increase in chargebacks when measured as a % of the overall transactions in France. We are cooperating working with a French attorney now to see what recovery success exists in this country.

But what is funny is that in your list the french also hold a position of exception...
A positive one but an exceptional... so maybe we can conclude that in one way or another the french are euhhhh study objects at least

Well to be fair the numbers are skewed by a lot of factors, for example I rarely have french customers so the sample size for France is much smaller than for any of the other countries. Barely over 100 while all the others are in the x,xxx or xx,xxx range.

I also don't have any French language customer service or text anywhere - maybe they cant figure out how to cancel? - lol.

Finally my business has skyrocketed in the last couple years and none of the increase has come from France, most of my sales to France were several years back so the whole rebill cycle is pretty much played out now.

- As soon as I think up a good sig it's going here.

You are 1000% correct PornMasta. I have the lawyer in IM with me now, explaining to me the process. Many countries have laws that allow the winning party to recover the costs associated with court. We are considering the facts that the average chargeback and bank fees may be near 100- 110 EUR, and there are thousands of chargebacks in France.

What is the success % without the extended legal process? What is the risk with and without the extended legal process?

In the end, the real question is: What is the Cost versus Reward, and what is the Risk versus Reward?
