Why do software programs do this ?
I purchased a video editor over a year ago and the computer I had it installed on no longer works. You cant download the program and save it cause there is no facilty on their website to do this it only downloads an exe file to install it on to your computer.
I download the software again onto my new computer and when i go to enter my registration and ID code it tells me i cant have it on multiple computers and it will block my codes. This is one reason i hate buying software online which dont let you have a backup to keep. I have sent them an email and if they say i have to rebuy it again. I will download it from a torrent site. I am not going to pay twice for the same software they can go fuck themselves. |

Yup, single machine licenses are pretty lame. In instances like yours I've had the developers make an exception when I explained the issue to them.

Hate this too. While I do buy mine, I can totally understand why so many people just steal cracked software.

I have done this multiple times and I have yet to run into a company that did not reset the license.

If you paid for the software purchase with a major credit card, try contacting the credit card company and explain the situation. Sometimes they'll credit the purchase (chargeback) to you - but it usually depends on the length of time since the purchase was made.
Might be worth a try. All they can say is no. Sucks when software companies do that. They can look up and verify your purchase in their records. It'd be good public relations on their part to do the right thing and keep a customer happy. |
