Best way to learn Ruby and objects in general?

Hello. Well.. If you don't know, I got a delivery job until I get some projects going again..
So, today I took some food to a big IT company and I walked into the office and no one was around. So I walked next to their meeting room and overhead two people talking about needing to hire a few developers for Ruby to develop something in a test environment but everyone wants $150 or more per hour.
So I popped out and said "I'll do it for half" and talked with them a bit about it and my background and I think I got the job, and at very least I'll get an internship with them..

So, if I've been coding since I was little, but mostly procedural like Python and web based code and a little C# for FIRST Robotics years ago, where is the best place for someone like me to get info on object oriented coding and Ruby and fast?

Thanks!

Metaprogramming Ruby is the best book I have read for the ins and outs of Ruby object oriented programming.

I just got a job as an iCracked technician, should be interesting.

I picked up an older woman from a bar about 2 months ago, she had a PhD in computer science and almost worked for google just a bit ago, she's the smartest woman I've been with by a margin.

Anyway she made mention that Ruby Developers do very well, sometimes taking a year off to travel the world.

Some people are just good programmers, i always have to learn things deeply but in turn that gives me a huge edge.
Ruby is the cool kid language, you could say.

I charge $85/hour. We're in demand and can name our fee.

I second the Meta Programming Ruby and recommend the 'Pick Axe' book. RubyTapas is $8 a month and is also very good.

Biggest difference from Python is that strings are mutable and blocks are used everywhere.

My kid's mom bills out 60 hours a week at $100 an hour for PHP/CSS/JQuery/ColdFusion

$150 an hour for Ruby seems about right.

When I lived in Silicon Valley I saw a bulletin board post saying "Do you know Ruby? We will pay DOUBLE your Current rates". Apparently theres a high demand for it.
I also met a Javacript developer who had a big beautiful home, which is extremely expensive in SV.
