The oldest cat ever is Creme Puff who was born on 3 August 1967 and lived until 6 August 2005 - an amazing 38 years and 3 days! Creme Puff lived with her owner, Jake Perry, in Austin, Texas, USA.

Jake Perry was also the owner of Grandpa Rex Allen, the previous holder.

Also, sorry for your loss. It's hard when a pet dies.

I actually find it hard to believe in the veracity of that age even though I have seen it published before. It's especially odd that one human owner claims to have multiple longevity record holding cats. A cat is old once it gets over 20. It's very rare indeed for even a pampered house cat to live past 25. 30 is completely unheard of. 38 completely stretches credulity. I don't know how rigorous of fact finding was done in this case, but it seems more likely to me that there is something fishy going on.

I'm so sorry to hear that. R.I.P

Sorry friend. You gave your friend a long, happy life. Find solace in that.

Condolences to you .

I was at one of my rental condos this afternoon (for Montrealers, it is in the '' Triangle '' area ) and the SPCA( canadian version ) is just a block away ... I stopped in and saw this cute little 4 years old female cat purring, being nice to me (female I said...:)... ) debating if I should commit to 15 years or so of shared life.. She was really nice :warning
