The Beatles first appeared on the Ed Sullivan show Feb. 9, 1964 and were watched by an estimated 73 million viewers in 23 million households (34% of the American population at the time).

If it's going to auction, there's a good change it will end up in a Hard Rock somewhere.
If he wants to sell it directly and not pay Sotheby's or Christie's commission, he should contact them.
