I read that only 40 people in the world are known to become like this (basically, asperger autistic superpowers) after trauma. I would not try getting punched with the hope of becoming geometry artist, as the probability is very low. However, new technologies may allow selective brain surgery in a future, who knows - if you need to draw circles like this guy for any reason.

Maybe he is just delusional and *thinks* he is now a math genius. Kind of like when you are high and think you have mind blowing genius ideas and then realize while sober they were stupid. I don't see any examples of him actually doing anything.

A far more likely explanation for the change in his ability was that the brain injury impaired some aspect of how his brain wires disparate regions together in order to communicate. In order to recover his brain had to find alternate pathways to communicate between the various brain regions.

It just so happens that in his case the new alternate pathways work better than the originals.

Its not some weird spiritual/metaphysical thing. He is just the luckiest mofo alive.
