Phoenix Forum - April 4-7

Looking to talk to anybody in the art or solo (multi or model specific) niche or plans to expand into one of those areas

example of the art niche:

Whether youre a shooter or apart of an affiliate program.

Or anybody involved in paysites, im really open to discussing just about anything paysite related

Not needing anything related to servers or alternative billing. all handled there.

My history, im a shooter, editor, marketing manager of some of the top solo sites in the niche and have plans to move to hardcore eventually. multi model site eventually soon

always interested in site purchases, partnerships, selling content of exclusive models, you name it.


And a related rant:

Its a real shame that most of these programs dont have reps who goto these events because theres business to be made but sadly theyre content with where they are or think theres no business to be made there. If any bigger programs see this, i urge you guys to take a day out of your schedule to attend an event once a year. Did meet a nubiles rep there last year though. Props to them. Not shockingly, theyre a company doing well with adapting and growing

I hear all the time about companies like these needing photographers and not currently being happy with theirs and hiring new ones and going to the well of the only few photographers they know in the industry, never understood why they aren't out there, theres photographers and models to meet all the time. Its a couple hundred dollar trip. Youre never too big to find new models or photographers. I actually have photographers from outside the industry meet me in phoenix as its a good central location all the time, it may seem like its only full of server and alternative billing reps but it is not ;)

I have also met models there that are worthy that could have been very interested if approached by the right person.

Im still shocked nobody has talked Allie Mason (Allie Rose) on board, shes attended the event the past few years and has done playboy.

Alexandra Capriola worked a couple years ago, dont believe she was approached. Couple reps I talked to wanted work

I see these same companies using the same lousy models every body else is using. I think when Elle Alexandra, Rilee Marks, Malena Morgan came into the light, everybody had a ton of sets from them. I got tired of them in no time because of this. companies down south are so terrible at getting new top girls involved, its ridiculous, because they give 0 effort. there's a girl who has attended the forum a few times recently who is top notch and better than all their models, but i guess companies rather keep going to the same well and using the same girls every other company is using

I know a few photographers who decide not to go, which is find strange. Ive needed photographers before, i goto the show, missed opportunities. Truthfully , just meeting people and showing face, i talk to companies all the time and if i know a photographer is a good guy and has people skills, much more likely to recommend one.

If you have gone and dont think there is a benefit to going, maybe youre not talking to the right people there ;)

Actually i can think of a scenario right now, Gisele used to attend all the time, perhaps if she had met somebody with some people skills, when she was looking for new work, im pretty sure she would have been more likely to work with you. I believe she chose her current program (pacinocash) because she already knew him, i believe they hung out in phoenix, or maybe met prior , not sure. but my point is, she went with somebody she knew face to face

Nubiles is always at shows same for Metart.

Dont forget a lot of programs dont go over the pond but are present at the euro shows ;)

Yeah i mentioned nubiles does go, i totally forgot about met-art because i didn't get to meet with jill last year.

X-art is? Very interesting. I will definitely be looking out for them while im there, maybe ill have you point him/her/them out when I see ya. If they do indeed go

If i already hired them as exclusive models, why would I start sending them elsewhere? Course not. Though i've already talked to companies about shooting extra specifically for them. As you guys have also.

Truthfully i wouldn't even mind giving a model to a company for a shoot if i had a relationship with them (not continuously), i have a good relationship with my models and lets be honest, nobody can offer these girls more money than we pay them.

Anyway theres more business to be done than just giving up my models. LOL

not true, if you sent Autumn to LA for a month, she'd make 20K easily, she'd be shooting solo and g/g every day for 30 days straight. she'd be exactly like Elle Alexander and Malena Morgan.

nobody shares good models unless there's something real beneficial in it for them - as you said, you got tired of Elle, Rilee and Malena fast because everybody shot them and they were everywhere.

sites with exclusive models do better - i.e. Backroom Casting Couch, Girls Do Porn, FTV Girls - the big porn companies need so many fresh faces they use 95% agency talent

No thats not the case actually. Every scenario is different. If you think sending a model to a company such as, i dont know, playboy or met-art means they all of a sudden are doing girl/girl and shooting for everybody, youre paranoid. Secondly, youre assuming theyre all like Catie Minx who loves attention, etc.. mfc types.

Secondly, if you have a partnership with them, the fact you can cut their monthly salary every month for years so they can take a quick job, makes it not all that enticing to them. Hailey Leigh would never do it and would only do it because i told her to, because it was in her best interest

Actually if they did decide to leave and shoot elsewhere, very worst case scenario which i think is near impossible when you handle it correctly, then all that means is youre not receiving full 100 percent of the website that you already shot years of content for and saving yourself well over 30k a year as she'd be giving up her cut. basically an easy way to get out of a contract you dont really want to be in ;)

You have girls in the l.a side of things, you had one recently shoot for playboy, and some in the past. john works with ashley doll. who you decided against being involved with, but only because she doesn't meet your standards. not because of her l.a/az history. there are girls you find in porn that you'd do sites with, couple girls in girlsdoporn im sure. their relation and contacts to l.a aside.

also sending a girl to a shoot for one company you have a relationship doesn't make them automatically in l.a scene. unless that company you sent them to, decided to give her personal details to all their competitors , which doens't make sense for them for two reasons, they burn a bridge and they would have her content on competing websites.

Playboy and Met-Art are the only two websites I will make the trade-off for in terms of exclusivity - the exposure and cachet benefits me more than it hurts. And the Playboy shoot I didn't want but I didn't want a pissed off model so I said ok.

Haha, Catie is a real bad example. Catie's BFF from real life was Holly Michaels, Catie knows all about the LA porn industry and wants nothing to do with it. She really didn't want to do a website either - all she's ever enjoyed is being a camwhore on MFC. She tried Streamate and hated it.

Ashley Doll on her own shot for Twistys, that's it as far as I know.

Oh and the last part, ask JayRock and Rico from Panchodog about 'just one little shoot' not being risky - JayRock discovered Meggan Malone in Texas, he shot her for Met-Art himself, I showed Meggan to Rico and he loved her, made a deal with JayRock quickly to shoot a solo site, signed Meggan to an exclusive contract and spent a fuckload on her, think 40K - Jay moved to LA and I think I introduced him to Stephen Hicks, Stephen of course wanted to shoot Meggan when he was shown her photos. I was against it, Rico said it was ok with him, what harm could come of it?
Anyway, while Meggan was at the Hicks studio, well known agent John Stevens showed up on the scene, it didn't take long for Stevens to convince Meggan to jump ship, even though she was under contract to Rico and within days VIVID Video announced the signing of Meggan Malone as the next VIVID Contract Star. Rico's investment became almost worthless.

You'd share a model with me though. Because you trust me. Thats why you build relationships and meet people face to face, theres contracts that can be used, alot of things. ;) I could share details with people in l.a just as easy as a company you sent a girl to.

And you can't compare a model a photographer found to my scenario. Like i said, every model is different. You treat different models differently, if shes a model that is going to run when given the chance, you dont provide those models with shoots elsewhere, you have one that is smart and a relationship with them and know theres next to no chance, thats much different. Photographers dont give these girls non stop work. The only way they get non stop work is by working with tons. Or else have a solo site.
