    14 year old sentanced to life in prison, what do you think?

    I know this is old, but I haven't seen a discussion about it here. What do you guys think about this?

    So this 12 year old boy killed a 6 year old girl, violently. Then he got a life sentance at the age of 14.

    Do you think he deserves it? Personally I'm not sure. He deserves a pentaly, but life in prison?

    Do you think he would have gotten the same sentance if he was a rich white kid? No chance in hell.

                                                  1. I agree the attorney was an idiot for not accepting the plea.

                                                  2. At the age of 12.... I can't imagine such a young child being capable of such a harsh crime, so I put a lot of blame on the way he was raised. I think a punishment should have been imposed on the parents. I'm sure his behavior prior to this incident wasn't that of an angel and his parents obviously let him get away with it.

                                                  3. White or Black--the kid would have went down either way.

                                                  4. Life in Prison with no chance of parole-- I think that was a little stiff, but then again I wouldn't want that little lunatic running around my neighborhood.

                                                  5. I think they should have put him in a mental facility until the age of 21 and then sentenced him at that time. (not released him, but sentenced him at this time). To see what kind of person he was after seperation from his parents and heavy psychological evaluation, treatment.

                                                      Is a very sad story for both ends. I remember this case and is really fucked up. The Kid was 12 at the time, I dont think he knew what the fuck he was doing. I had heard he was doing wrestling moves that he had seen on WWE(WWF). Lets face this, how about those rapist that get low senteces? They should be torture to death. The kid should have gotten a good punishment but life with no parole I think is something out of this world.
