Remember my little Extortion Problem?

I got my fucking domain back from this company. I'll mention their name if anyone asks for it, see below. This is my e-mail:

Appearantly you are not reading my e-mails thoroughly, so listen up:

1) One thing you did'nt consider was that when it came to the e-bay item, it all comes down to a simple problem of semantics. I said the domain will come with one year paid hosting, which simply meant I would set him up with your company to get hosting. Additionally, you have to realize that his e-mail to me was putting an emphasis on hosting, because he realized that you guys were no good from the e-mails I sent him about your inability to help me transfer the domain. THAT was a way for him to back out of it, in his eyes. When he bid on the item, he was bidding on the site, not the hosting, the auction itself said that.

2) I did not resale the hosting, I was selling my site and it's design. Notice that your company is'nt even listed in the auction. On top of all this, I did'nt even make a sale.

3) I never said I was going to make any complaints to anyone, and threatening me with the idea that you are going to hold on to the domain until there are no more complaints is sleazy.

No domain = a pause in business for me = no money. You know this.

Claiming I broke your TOS = no responsability for you = no refund for me. You know this as well.

That additionally, is sleazy.

I did not break your TOS. I did'nt threaten to complain anymore to anyone. In my last letter, I specifically said "give me the domain so I can stop dealing with your company".

I did however say, that your willingness to "contact a third party to resolve this" was fine by me, and if you wanted to get in the legalities of this, I would win. You would pay.

You're using extortion to get what you want by holding my domain name as a ransom. "Don't say anything to anyone, and you get your domain back." I see all too well.

BUT like I said, I just want the name back, nothing more, nothing less.

And after 2 DAYS, they finally come back at me like this:

I am not going to waste any time arguing this point as we have customers who abide by out terms odf service to deal with. You admitted quite clearly that you were selling our hosting service as part of the deal on E-bay.

I have asked that you be given an account at the registrar to administer your domain and I trust that this will be the last we hear of this matter.

Please be advised that if you make any posting or comments that libel our company these will be met with legal action as we have all records showing that you were selling on our service at profit.

Score one for the little guy. Sure, I did'nt get a refund, but I ultimately got back what I wanted without taking it to court.

And as far as libel, hey, if anyone wants to ask me about it, I'll tell them the truth. I mean, that's legal, ain't it?
