    Facebook the new bitcoin?

    Will a power player like facebook create the new bitcoin? And could they be more successful with it?

      Bitcoin is not a money transfer service. Facebook is looking to set up something akin to Paypal, not Bitcoin.

              How much you want to bet they will not finance any adult virtual services?

              That said, they would be trustworthy as an approved money transfer service even more so as publicly listed and regulated business.

              There is a real need for a virtual currency as a middleman for internet transactions. So long as they stay out of the ATM and credit card markets they will do just fine.

                  Actually Google is working very hard on a coin of their own.... and the idiots in the general population are stupid enough to buy into a coin controlled by a huge mega company who will keep the majority of the coins for themselves. Instead of a coin that is co-opted by all.

                  Google will make the coin easy to use and with password recovery etc... for the sheeple who love to be controlled.

                  If google does launch a coin and it gets accepted they will be the richest company in the entire world.

                      Interesting idea. A coin backed by a major corporation. The world is truly changing.
