Im currently wearing a USA hockey t-shirt and New York Rangers hat, and even I have to laugh at that. I mean yeah, admittedly a down year for NHL teams located in Canada, but they did happen to win the gold in both mens and womens in the Olympics a month or so back, and still have the best players in the world all over the teams based in the US.

more and more US hockey payers are coming up. Especially from areas that general are not thought of as hockey areas. If you look in the WHL there are more and more kids from California for example when it used to be prominently Canadian kids, and kids from US stats further north.

if they would have missed the playoffs with lundqvist between the pipes and the big salary guys they have out there (nash, richards, st louis) -- plus a guy whos rapidly developed into one of the best d-men in the league in mcdonagh -- vigneault would have been out on his ass.

that said, i fully expect them to lose to philly in the first round, even if they lock up home ice for the series.
