Is there a way I can shorten my code for tracking purposes to eg:

domain.com/?nats=username

rather than domain.com/track/username or join.domain.com/username.campaign.1.0.0.4.5.etc

I see links here and there that are the 1st example, and don't know if it's default that the username you signed up with correctly tracks, needs to be set up within the program, or doesn't track at all and is simply affiliate error. Anyone able to give a definite answer? Thanks

Doesn't "track" in a url get automatically blocked by the AdBlockers and cookie not set? If so, good to cut that out of URL right?

Disagree. You are not a program owner... Yet.

Speak to NATS, your idea may be a simple fix, it may benefit them and their clients, and it may lead to you becoming a client of theirs in the future. Just be up front about who you are and why you are asking....

Link shorteners are an obvious and simple way around most of these concerns, even better you can create your own redirect script, that sends customers to a domain you own where they can be redirected to the nats code with php. Don't have more details, but it has been discussed here before. Sorry no time to find relevant links.

is also valid as a 'program default' link

The definitive answer is if you see links like "domain.com/?nats=username", they are NOT a valid linkcode. They don't set a new cookie for your surfer and if there is an existing cookie from a different affiliate, you lose.

In order for traffic to properly track to your account, the ONLY way is to go through the correct /track/ linkcode.

A simple way to achieve what you want is through mod_rewrite, however in the end there will still be a redirect through a proper /track/ linkcode (and I don't see what the problem is with that, to be honest, because adblockers do not interfere with /track/ otherwise you wouldn't end up where you want to be, plus I've tested hundreds of times and /track/ poses no issue)
