Mac People - Mavericks

Hey Guys,

For anyone with a Mac have you downloaded Mavericks yet? I have heard some good and bad about it.

Let me know what you think.

Cheers

Worth it for the 'Finder' upgrades alone. Multiple tab as well as tagging folders.

No big difference with Mountain Lion but yes, is better (faster and more secure).
Be ready for the new layout (concept)

Updated 3 Mac's so far with it in the past month and have had zero problems. Switching back and fourth between standard and extended desktops now seems faster too. The new features are nice and actually useful too.

I have it on my Macbook Pro, Macbook Air, Mac Mini, and Mac Pro Desktop. All seem to be taking to it fine, but several caveats:

* If you run Apache locally, it'll fuck it all up. You'll need to re-install PHP and reconfigure Apache. Mavericks just steam-rolls your shit.

* Drivers for certain things (Logitech, I'm looking at you) will break and need to be re-installed.

* Geektool may have funny behavior after Mavericks, depending on what your local scripts are doing.

Good luck, you pole-smoking cock-burglar. Hit me on Skype if you run into issues and I'd be glad to help.

Its messing with my web browser on my Mid-2001 MacBook Pro .... popup windows almost freeze the computer for 20-30 seconds ...

I looked in the forums, and it seems to be a very common side effect ...

I would love to go back to Mountain Lion, but I am too lazy ... I'm hoping they will roll out a fix before it pisses me off enough to backup and uninstall ...

All I can say is Mavericks was well-priced ......

Running it on my 6 year old Macbook and it's running like new again. Still waiting to pit it on my haswell MacBook Air until I'm sure it will be ok.

Macbook Air 13 here.

It caused WIFI dropping issues for me when I first installed it. There was lots of chatter on this issue on the apple support forums so I wan't alone. They seem to have quietly fixed this issue.

Improved finder is great.

Overall, I'd go for it.

I have it on my Mac Book pro. Yet I barely ever use it anymore because of my Ipad.
