If the pilot knew anything about mountain lions, he knew you were telling pork pies. You won't see them from planes, as they mostly hunt at night or at dawn. Very stealthy creatures.

Lions normally hunt at night or dusk or dawn...but they also often move about during daylight hours...and they are opportunists. I told the pilot I was looking to spot some lions if any were out and about but also for wild life in general such as Elk...Deer...Bear that may be out of hibernation. I am very well acquainted with the habits of wild life here in the States...thank you very much.
