I am looking for a camera in walmart! I was going to get the Nikon 2-MP Coolpix 2000. But I heard it sucks up batteries like a motherfucker.

i'd suggest nikon, of any sorts. some of the models have rechargable li-ion, or you can get them for that fairly cheaply.

go 4300, if you can. that should be around $400-500, 4.3 mp

Are you spending $400 on just the camera, or on the camera plus accessories, etc? Is it just a general use camera, or for real photography?

I would say. I am going to use the camera for taking all types of photos. But I want a pro look to them. I don't want them to be sketchy. I would probably go over the 400 dollar limit.

Right on. For my general use camera (fits in my pocket), I have a little 2.0 Megapixel Sony. But I have a a couple 128 MB flash cards for it, and a couple sets of the quick charge lithium batteries, etc. So batteries aren't a problem, and it can hold a good number of pics. This is a lower quality camera than you're thinking, but all together runs about $400 and does everything I need.

But it's not going to make you look like a pro, unless you are one and are working in real good conditions.

Canon Elph S200 299

both fit in your pocket so you can take it anywhere.. wihtout the bulk.. .they come with a nicadlithium battery.. that is rechargeable...
