They are smart, decent discount codes for renewals are getting rarer and smaller, tried a lot of codes and this one was the best I could find for renewals that actually worked - 33% off renewals.

I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!
they want people to join their domain discount club i guess. pay 90 bucks and you can get renewals for 8,47. its worth it if you have a bunch of domains with them.
you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..

you can use a discount coupon to drop that $90 yearly fee as well, got my membership for like $58
You still have to have 50-100 domains for discount club to be worth it.
But is there any other registrars with renewal price (even couponed price) in between 8.50-9.99?
internet.bs
namesilo.com
i am sure there are more. you can get 9. something with namecheap.com if you have a couple hundred domains with them. i never used internet.bs or namesilo.com though, i prefer to have my domains with a bigger company.

If you think about it the domain names are over priced even at $8. It probably costs an average of 50 cents per domain to run. But OTOH it's an improvement over the old $70 or $100 per domain days.
You don't like my posts? Put me on ignore or fuck right off. I'll say what I want.

NameSilo, who has since earned basically all of my business, offers domains and renewals for $8.99 -- and that includes free lifetime WHOIS Privacy, Domain Defender, Security, Premium DNS, etc. all inclusive. They do not charge for any of the extras like most registrars do. And no coupon is needed. http://www.namesilo.com/pricing.php

NameSilo.com is growing fairly quickly, and it seems to be at the expense of the other registrars who are losing business to them. Certainly it is biased info, but they have a page up which shows you how many domains they are gaining via people transferring their domains TO NameSilo from other registrars and how many domains they are losing by clients transferring their domains FROM Namesilo to the other registrars. http://www.namesilo.com/transfer_compare.php
Something is wrong with the table. While most are gaining in huge amounts, which are losing those huge numbers?
I think you may be reading it wrong. The net gain for each registrar listed is how many domains NameSilo has had transferred to them FROM that specific register. So for example, The Godaddy record is currently showing:
What this means is that NameSilo has gained 30,013 domains via GoDaddy client transfers while at the same time, they have lost 3065 of their own client's domains TO Godaddy. The result is NameSilo currently having a difference of +26,948 domains transferred to them by GoDaddy's (former?) clients. See?

Understood. My first assumption was that they were showing how each registrar is doing on its own. Like when we have mobile operators statistics of how many numbers were transfered in/out.
That would be more interesting statistic. To see how many domains are companies like godaddy gaining vs losing.
