We were forewarned not to drink the tap water in Cancun (Spring Break) but we didn't think, duh, don't get ice cubes in drinks, don't brush teeth w/ tap water. I didn't vomit, neither did my friends, instead we got what exits the other end: Montezuma's Revenge

You should have reported it to the hotel and the Government. they strictly prohibit the use of tap water to make ice.

Thank you for the tip. Didn't know, it was 13 years ago. Plus we had eaten and partied at different locations, difficult to know if it was ice or because we brushed teeth with tap water instead of bottled water. A lesson learned which I follow everywhere I travel now outside the usa.

Only order bottled sparkling water. The bubbles tell you Jose didn't fill an empty bottle with tap water before serving you.

When I was there and we were coming back to the hotel, there were a bunch Mexicans with wheelchairs waiting outside the hotel and my gfs and I were like wth, were there some "handicapped" (sorry if that's not the P.C. way to put it) guests due back?
