I heard she was in Singapore.
SINGAPORE: Autumn Radtke, the American CEO of virtual currency exchange firm First Meta, was found dead at the bottom of an apartment block in Cantonment Close.
28-year-old Radtke was found lying motionless at the block's second-level parapet.
Police had received a call on 26 February 2014 at about 7.05am requesting for assistance at Block 8 Cantonment Close.
She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, and police are investigating the unnatural death.
Preliminary investigations revealed that no foul play is suspected.
Ms Radtke had been working in Singapore since 2012.
Some reports have been quick to link her death to the growing controversy around virtual currencies, in particular bitcoin.
But First Meta said it is not a bitcoin exchange.
Douglas Abrams, director and Acting CEO of First Meta, said: "First Meta is a virtual currency exchange. We deal in game currencies, the most popular of which are IMVU Credits, or Linden Dollars. We do accept payment in bitcoin so we let people buy virtual currencies or game currencies with bitcoin, but we don't provide the facility or capability for people to trade, buying and selling."
He also said that First Meta continues to execute trades, and its financials remain sound.
"The company is continuing to operate the exchange, everything is running smoothly. We intend to continue to operate our exchange and we believe, we know, that Autumn felt very strongly about First Meta and we believe that she would want to make sure that First Meta would continue to serve its customers, which we continue to make our first priority," he said.
Virtual currencies have come into the spotlight due to recent events involving the bankruptcy of a leading bitcoin exchange, Mount Gox.
