at the fake money bank?

For the people buying and selling bitcoins, what do you think your chances of getting an audit by the IRS are? I would think any bitcoin activity would be a step above disclosing interest in any offshore / foreign bank accounts.

Isn't it a bit stupid to indicate that you are buying btc? I mean the whole thing about btc is that it is anonymous.
If you buy them, do not leave trail..

For those who wish to disclose it is no different that investing in any other stock, bond, commodity, or currency...

If you "would think" these things you may want to re-think thinking.

Considering the fact that it's anonymous, would you put it in the same class as buying stocks or other currencies? And I would think that if it were to be disclosed it would put up a red flag, no?

You think it's anonymous? Not on any major exchange it's not. Can you buy and sell gold anonymously? Can you buy and sell many types of bonds and securities anonymously?

There you go thinking again.

OneHungLo 02-26-2014 02:55 PM

Excuse my ignorance - I was under the impression you could purchase bitcoins anonymously and from my understanding probably wouldn't be looked upon too favorably by the US government. And I could see the IRS fucking with people that are involved with them given the history of the IRS.

Although I'm not an investor, I'm not knocking them, so no need to get flip.

Sorry for my tone - you can be sneaky and buy or sell BTC anonymously, although it's not easy to turn large amounts of BTC to cash anonymously.

Your typical investor uses exchanges which are regulated and monitored the same as other financial instruments. As for red flags when you disclose profits to the IRS - I doubt it.

12 clicks, thanks for your time to replying to EVERYONE here in bitcoin threads. As you said, you really do not have any interest or care for this topic. And you really are not showing any sign of feeling left out.

Have great day dude.

So far no amount of reality has been able to intrude on the dream - I can't imagine the catastrophe that would be required to tank bitcoin - unless somehow bitcoins abducted that missing plane.
