photoshop question

Hey, in photoshop, i have a picture, with 2 layers, background and text... is it possible to copy both the backgorund and text onto a new picture?

flatten layers > select all > copy > file > new image > paste

and in the original image (with the layers) go back in your history
one step so the layers are restored.

that should do it for now

That's a little more complicated than it needs to be and you might screw things up when you flatten your layers.

Just select whatever you want and hit CTRL+SHIFT+C (instead of just CTRL+C which you would normally use to copy) or use the Edit->Copy Merged command.

I am using the custom shape tool, to make a heart, when it makes a heart the heart is TO THICK, how can I make it thinner?

I have a question when I use the mask selection and drag the image into another photo I get a transparent ghost affect instead of a solid image any ideas what im doing wrong?

If you mean the heart is too wide, hold down shift while you drag. That will contrain it to the proportions of the original shape.

Are you using a bursh with feathered edges or a completely solid brush? If you are not selecting 100% of the pixels inside your mask, you will end up with a semi-transparent image.
