Mike please just use your own domains!!! Setup your own blog hosting if you want! I have all my blogs on their own domains and have domains setup with multi-wp to create their own little blog sub-networks...and when you do that you won't have to worry bout when (and I mean when because it is always bound to happen) a freehost takes a dive.

There are plenty of cheap shared hosts and even budget vps providers for you to setup your blogs...it hardly costs anything and you can put a ton of blogs on one domain if you want...it all pays for itself anyways once your blogs start making sales day after day. |

Mike, do yourself a favor - sit down and explain to us all in this thread why you insist on wasting your time and ultimately screwing yourself over with freehosts, instead of spending pocket change on a domain & cheap hosting plan. Maybe if you actually try to write it out you'll realize whatever justification's in your head is silly. |

Probably for the same reason that he has ignored every other piece of solid advice that he has gotten over the last several years.

Gotta echo what everyone else is saying. A shared hosting plan through just about anyone will run you only 10 or so bucks a month. Then you won't have to deal with policy changes (as with blogger, tumblr, etc) or random shutdowns. The small price for a real hosting plan is worth the security and peace of mind it'll bring.

Better check the webmaster forum. Many people have posts there over 3 months old that have not been answered. If you start having issues they will not be solved. It's done soon.

Like everyone said, buy hosting. You're only hurting yourself each time a host goes down.

However since you asked I will provide you with the answer. Here's a list of free porn blog hosts: http://tinyurl.com/kvd79sx |

![]() Not to say Mike is stupid... I have clients and prospects that come to me with fixes and very specific demands on sites where that were/are built with some site builder that allows limited flexibility. It gets frustrating telling people why and giving justifications for doing something specific. Take the time to learn how to run blogging software, maybe a little coding, and full backups and everything will be so much easier for you. Things become very modular, ColMike did that and did/is very well at it. You had a thread asking for people to tell you if it was going to be ok as you were scraping by... but with topics like this the sympathy well runs dry quickly. |

I found it profitable to build on both hosted domains and freehosted sites. One does not make the other irrelevant.

Twan's stuff was really helpful and I would have paid a lot for his network, had he sold, rather than just quitting. mikesinner if you would like some hosting for blogs, in the style of the freehosts, please drop me a line at spookycash [at] gothicsluts.com Some folks on GFY just don't get the power of blogging. If you have a domain, I would also be happy to barter with you, so you can get your own domain hosted as well.

I tried using freehosts but they close or cause more headaches than they're worth.

I'm trying something new with my stuff and if it works out I'll talk about it. It's on a hosted domain. Owning is usually better than renting. You're in more control, just like your own homestead ;). |

Did thumblogger rank really well in Google? I never had a chance to play with it, but i'd like to know how he got to where he was. How he got so successful with it. I'm assuming it was just a very old domain and he probably deleting spam blogs so Google ranked it much higher. |

So did the thumbbloggers automatically get listed in some powerful directories? Also that's insane, 8K alexa? If that's what you're saying then dam. Why would he just up and quit. Why not sell the website, or slap shit loads of ads and let it slowly die. I wish he explained himself. Maybe it wasn't profitable? I assume he just had a set of links on each blog. Is that really profitable? |
