    Flappy Bird is Officially Gone

    Flappy Bird creator says popular game will fly no more.

    The creator who is from Vietnam suddenly pull the app from app store and google play after making $50k a day!

    Is he crazy or genuis?

              He's crazy, who doesn't love money ??? I know if I was making $50k per day, I can't think of any reason to pull it down. You'd think he could just kick back and just let the money roll in.

                          He is definitely set for life as a Vietnamese guy, but… it's still free money. And I mean when you're a developer and you hit that kind of success you get options. I've given up big passive income streams and just leveraged them as credentials to get new ones. But even then I just stop maintenance, not throw away money. I get not wanting to be the flappy bird guy, but it's 100% free fucking money.

                          I'm also kicking myself right now because I thought about cloning it and making it skinnable/varying the difficulty a little but said fuck it. I also have a FB page that gets like several hundred thousand views whenever I post a flappy bird joke. Maybe there's still time.

                              I thought this was just a publicity stunt, but he actually removed it.. what an idiot.

                              however i did hear that there was potentially an issue with copyright as the pipes look pretty much identical to mario? that could explain it.

                              But who cares.. the game was shit, just cant believe he is turning down $50k a day!

                                          On the other hand, I'm sure it's not his intent but this could be the most genius PR move in history. Now that you can't download it there's going to be that "exclusive club" effect. It's like when Spotify or Google+ launched as invite only. Everyone fucking HATES G+ but every single human on the planet asked their Facebook friends for an invite. Having something other people don't have makes people who do have it brag about it, as dumb as it is.

                                          He's still serving ads to millions of addicted players so I wouldn't be surprised if he makes more today than he did yesterday. People are still sharing scores on facebook and people who snoozed are going to wish they'd been a part of it for the next week or so.

                                          If he times it right, he could easily say he saw people requesting it and put it back up, then all those people who didn't care but were suddenly deprived are going to jump on it and he'll explode his revenue.

                                              Is the game still showing ads to those who downloaded it? If yes, then he is still making money and by pulling the game doesn't have to offer any support or be constantly harassed for updates.

                                                              Guess what, next game he makes and releases, people will download it like crazy and hurry to jump on the train to not miss out, since one can't be sure how long the game will be around. Short lifespans, make it limited and exclusive and everyone will value it higher just because each copy becomes one out of an exclusive number.
