Turning spam mailers into clients
So like anyone that gives the convenience of allowing a client to copy/paste your email address, I get a ton of spam emails from people offering SEO services. These things always annoy me, and until now, I've just sent reply emails telling them that if I get emailed again, I'll report them to their host. It hasn't worked so far, because come rain or come shine, every morning I'll wake up with 3 SEO opportunities from India in my inbox.
Today, I decided to reply to the emails I've got in the last week telling them to add me to Skype to talk. I had five people add me. The first one gave me an idea, and it paid off. See, those stupid emails they send always have terrible spelling and grammar, plus the text is just, like, you don't want to read it. It's boring - it's clearly not written by anyone that cares enough to get their language or message across, and at X Copywriters, that's our bread and butter. So, I explained to every single one of them that I don't like SEO companies that don't have good spelling and grammar, and that they should seek a direct response email solution to improve their conversion rates. After all, one sale on their end would cover the text, and if it was good enough to take one guy that said 'no' into a guy that said 'yes', surely it was justified, right? Well, naturally, as a copywriting studio, we have the perfect solution. We know what language to use to make people convert, and it just so happens that you're talking to us. All of them dislike the fact that they're disregarded because of their language, and I offered my services as a professional copywriter. The response? One client that has already had their direct response email job done, and two others are telling me that they are seriously considering it (and not that 'yeah, I'll consider it' but not really vibe, either). Sometimes, it pays to try and make a positive out of a negative, and if I keep getting these spam emails, I look forward to a lot more projects for Indian SEO companies. Business is out there, and sometimes, it comes to you in the most unconventional ways. ![]() |

Nice idea. Wonder if I can get some of those Russian girls that contact me for 'friendship' to register as a camgirl?

Just a heads up, I would never use the unsubscribe on a spam type email. All you are doing is confirming the email account is valid.

Just as an update: I'm still doing this, and have made 7 sales for $700 to date.
Bring on the spam. |
