In other words, he was told to wait and see a doctor but instead left, and returned to the waiting room. They called his name a number of times, but he never responded.

Maybe, in 8 hours the guy developed symptoms but no one noticed. The ER in the Bronx late Sunday night through Monday AM, convulsing in a corner chair and they were too busy to notice ... Most of the Bronx is like a battle zone so that might be believable. Sounds like a shoot n' stab hospital.

The same thing happens here every day and we pay from our wages for the service if we like it or not.....

I have friends in low places and know how to use the system here in the UK...

I had a neighbor that called her GP and was told she had to wait 2 weeks to see him - She had a lump - I called and she was being treated in hospital the next day.....

I'm glad I knew what to do but it makes me sick that others would have waited that 2 weeks and possibly died...

If you are in the UK and you are not happy call someone else and if you are still not happy make another call.....

The amount of people I've seen walk out of hospitals because they had to wait doesn't surprise me that they lost him. If he wandered off from where he was supposed to be there is a limit to how much time they can waste looking.
