Yeah, I know what it is like to get a license in Germany; definitely tougher than here. What state are you in now?

First time. All of my kids took 2 or 3. Pissed me off.

I'm so lucky, I've had to take the driving test 2x. Once in the states when I was 16 and in 2010 to get my dutch license. o-O I passed both on the 2nd try.

When I was 16, I got the women we termed the dragon lady. She NEVER passed anyone the first time (or so was the rumor) and when I got her I was so nervous that when she asked me to take a left, I missed the left hand turn lane completely. o-O

For the dutch drivers license, I don't know anyone that passed the first time. I wouldn't be surprised if they fail everyone the first time so they get another 350 euro (or whatever it costs now) from the student.

I did my first driving test in a 3rd World country so no matter how good (or bad) you were, you'd always get your licence if you paid.
So yeah I passed first time fuckerr!!!

Second time I was less nervy and smashed it.

But I still need to check my blind spots more.

Conclusion, in the US they all pass.

Failed here 4 times (basicaly getting driver licence have two part here:one part is law test questions - on a computer, after pass this part come the driving test) - myself have failed 4 times to driving test. If you fail one of them you need to start all over again after two weeks.
After bribed got my driving licence 5th time.

Only people who I know failed their first attempt are women.

I got mine on my 2nd attempt. As I recall I had a near-perfect score going on my first try, got down to the parallell parking. Got in okay, but then when I was pulling back out I ran into trouble -- I signalled, shoulder-checked (all clear), then began pulling out, but some guy a few spaces behind me pulled out real quck and drove by, and the guy doing my test had to step in the break for me. (was using an instructor car which has break & gas pedals on the passenger side as well) Automatic fail.

The next day I went back and passed. You're allowed 50 demerit points on the test, I had 3 I think.

2nd time. First one seemed determined to fail me as if she was on a quota, even asked me to do hand signals and was then shocked I knew them.

It was 29 years ago, but yeah... I seem to recall I scored around 90 for the road and 95 for the written. I also recall that the guy giving me the test was old and smelled like shit.

Passed the written with 100%. An hour later passed the driving portion with only 1 point off for doing the California roll at a stop sign. I thought that is how everyone does it?

Passed first time - even after a dispute with the driving road tester near the end. I convinced him I was right...he was wrong.

I think I drove my parent's '74 Toyota Corolla.
