Eric, Theo, Achmed: please address this board technical issue

The relatively new forum feature "tag" is interfering with the old feature "thread subscription".

The interference is of a graphical nature. The new tag icon looks very similar to the subscription icon, and it's confusing. No one cares about thread tags anyway, and i suspect the have very little search value too. The subscription icon on the other hand lets use easily spot the threads that you replied to, so you can check these threads again, and it's actually a pretty useful feature.

Technically, yes, i am subscribed. But in reality I didn't do anything special, just posted in the thread.

Here are the steps to set it up:

1. User CP
2. Edit Options
3. Under the "Default Thread Subscription Mode" set it to "No email notification".

You will now get the "subscribe" icon next to the threads you post in. It's quite handy, try it.

One icon looks nothing like the other. I mean, not even remotely close to the other. Not sure where the confusion lies here.

You have to look closely at the icons now to determine that.

Previously you could spot the threads you posted in from the corner of your eye.

Anyway, the tag icon is not needed at all. If the tag feature is required for the search purposes, it could still be run stealthy, without displaying the icon.
