Funny that Poland wants into there little union but will buy there millitary jets from US companies. I heard that Jacques Chirac who thinks he runs the whole union was quite pissed off at that.

It's not that we don't know about what goes on there, it's just for the most part we aren't obsessed with it like you guys seem to be about the US and what goes on here. :thumbsup

American education is pretty much shit. An American university diploma isn't worth shit here in holland. Our average university can be compared to your Yale or Harvard.

It's a known fact Europeans are better educated. What a bullshit comment.

Sure, EU member countries might speak different languages, but hell, I bet most Americans have a hard time understanding what them folks in Alabama say, right? :1orglaugh

Yep, that's true.

Why do these other countries have to come and start on the US for? They constantly say we arent shit BUT they have their hands out in droves looking for a handout in the form of aid all the time!!! And I mean a lot of them. I was an officer in the military of the united states and saw a lot of these countries that think we are dumb asses and let me tell you that there was absolutely nothing to be impressed with when I was over there.

I think the US should take a more isolationist approach to things and let these other countries finally fend for themselves!!! Besides that we are pretty much broke now anyway!LOL

God I get sick of this crap, acting like it takes a brain surgeon to be an adult webmaster or something, give me a break!!!

Arthur Schlesinger opined that there were more wars between groups separated by language than even by religion. It'll be a miracle if the EU turns into anything resembling a country. And this is also why the US should resist becoming multilingual (in a regional way: with some states being Spanish-speaking primarily and some English-speaking...I'm NOT saying people shouldn't speak whatever language they want). For evidence of the kind of turmoil competing language groups can cause within a political entity, just look at Canada.

BS, Belgium speaks Dutch (north) and French (south), Holland is seriously considering making Friesch (language spoken in a Dutch province) a 2nd official language of the Netherlands.

Nothing wrong with that.

Did he only opine or did he actually have some research to base his statement on? 'Cause I'm sure that I can find research by other people stating the exact opposite. It eventually boils down to your criteria for swifting through research data. If you're even slightly biased (which most people always are, regardless of how much they think they aren't), then your resluts will be biased.

of course, I was talking about the so-called untied states of europe, the way the eu is supposedly heading at the moment

american-like muli-ethnicities assimilating into common culture wouldn?t easily work in eu

sure, it could be done if there?d be time to adapt people's thinking and time to adjust
but there will be no time
us of a will do its best to prevent the forming of such powerful state/nation
and it?s only a matter of time when muslim minority in europe will stop considering itself a minority

and lot of other reasons but these two are the most important

Some Europeans are better educated than most Americans. Some Americans are better educated than most Europeans.
