To the fellow wondering about my involvement in this industry. I was involved from 1997 until early in 2013 when I sold my last adult domain. During that period I ran more than Rockhard mentioned. At the heighth my various sites generated typically 400,000 unique visits daily.Anyone that worked at realitycash or playboy can verify that.
Lorryn was the last active contact I had with them and she certainly knew my stats.

However .... due to deer, icy road conditions, and stupid farmers hauling manure .... your spirited drive through the country will consist of driving back and forth along I-94.

Pass. I have no desire to visit Wisconsin. Not to mention I really don't have the time. Someone else also sent me enough proof that I believe Minte owns what he says he does.

Here's a question for you. Why would I inherit the business and not my mother. She is alive and well. She and my father were only married to each other from the time they were 18 up until his death. And they were very happily married.

I wish I would've inherited a pile of cash when he passed. It would've made thing a lot easier than it was. But again, my mother received that insurance money.

You've obviously found one of the numerous news articles about the company, you know that in the year of his death we had just built a new 30,000 sq ft plant which was about half filled.

Now scroll ahead 16 years. My manufacturing business has grown to 3 separate companies in a 502,000 Sq ft building sitting on 50 acres of land. My tire company alone does more sales in a week than we did in a year in the late 90's. It's significantly larger than the plastics/metals company. And the good news, is we invested heavily in new equipment in 2013. The tire company will grow at least 40% this year. We are hiring 50more employees in the first quarter.

If you think that hasn't taken a lot of years of hardwork and dedication you would again be wrong.

If it hurts you to view what others have done, don't look.
There are a lot of car threads, vacation threads, jumbo tv threads, guitar threads, etc.. that get posted here that I have nothing to do with.

This company was a team effort. Him and I started together,when I finished my tour in the army. That article was wrong btw. He completely retired in 1985. He owned a 37' tartan sailboat and a very nice RV which him and my mother traveled in most of the year. He actually had his heart attack when they were away.

Of course it was his success. We are a C corp. He was president, I was VP and general manager. I would never consider disrespecting the man. But this company was a joint success. It wouldn't have turned into anything without him doing his job and me doing mine. I didn't get out of school one day and take control. I was there on day one and I will be involved until my final day.

If you want to say I inherited my success, your welcome to say or think whatever you want. However, it's not true.

I've heard this said before from wiser people than me and again recently that this place used to be somewhere that we would applaud others who have had success--and now we do the opposite.

Maybe instead of doubting them and questioning their abilities we should be learning from them instead?

Incredible.. Not sure what to even say here. Your statement,.,he claims to be a self-made man. I've never said that to anyone. I've said to anyone that asked that my father and I started together. End of discussion.

Since he died, we have been able to turn it from a small metal shop to a much larger company. I have respect for Shap too, but lets not forget Mrs. Shap. Didn't she offer anything to the business? I believe she was a big part of their/his success.

So quit putting words in my mouth. If your best response to a heated political thread is to make up bullshit about me, you are in over your head.

And your jab about trading my final domain for a fender.. If someone had asked nicely I would've given it away. It was a hobby. It was fun and educational and I have no regrets.
The time came when my mainstream business took too much time and something had to go. Easy choice.

That's because of the drop in money. A lot of these guys are employees and/or barely making it with their own businesses. Piracy has just decimated the landscape around here.

So yeah, 99% of the people on GFY went from being successful and full of optimism to barely making it. So their viewpoint and perspective is totally different now.

I guess it's human nature.

Very true. George Shultz once said: Fat people don't start fights.

The worse things get, the more people become marginalized, and the more dangerous the world becomes. GFY is no different in that regard than anywhere else.
