The safety netting is in case they become self-aware and start chewing up the audience for fun?

I was most impressed with the 3 quads and the 'sky net' - returning the ball. That was rather cool.

Very cool, although I tend to think that the sensors around the cage is a kind of a cheat. The sensors can see the reflectors on the copters so the computer knows where they are in space, and "Space" is only as big as the cage of sensors. It would be much cooler if they could do this without those sensors. If each drone knew where it was in space on its own and knew where each of the others were on its own, THEN I would be blown away.

these guys are easily 100x smarter than you and me put together. fact is, you're talking out of your ass, you have absolutely no idea about any sensor in that room.

Part of the reason for the sensor net is because the quads cant get GPS signals inside of a building.

And I bet that if it had been some Canadians that did this, you'd be like HOLY FUCKING SHIT GUYS CHECK THIS OUT ITS THE BEST EVER BECAUSE IT'S CANADIANS!

I'm sure they'd even get bonus points if they did it on a macbook.

You mean like sattelites provide a "cage" around the earth so you have 3 fixed points to triangulate with? ;)

What they are doing with those drones are so impressive it is kinda scary. Makes me wonder what kind of world my kids will live in in 50 years.

pretty impressive, but if they could achive this without the sensors in open air and no some limited room , then it will be super awesome.

and no they cant use gps, as its not that sensitive/accurate ....

i wonder how much weight the all the drones can carry in the sky-net thing,

add more copters and i guess then can carry light weight person too. the main issue they will face is lipo.
