    Are your sales up? Check for fraud!

    With the recent Target hack I think anyone experiencing better than average sales should do a quick review and make sure its not too good to be true.

    I myself just spotted an affiliate account with a 1:2 ratio and of course took a closer look. Fortunately this scammer left a very identifiable footprint and I was able to quickly determine that all 40 transactions needed to be refunded immediately.

    So my bank account is $1,000 lighter but hopefully I avoided a significant number of chargebacks.
    - As soon as I think up a good sig it's going here.

          1000$ ligther?That means you had to pay each refund 25$ or you just calculated this as loss what you expected to be gain?

              Trial joins with some conversions. Total was 970 or so. Average 25 per trans. more or less. Yes I literally refunded all that money today, one transaction at a time and cancelled each membership one by one in the Netbilling gateway.

                  Unfortunately I don't have much that could be useful, this is a Filipino, most programs don't trust Filipino affiliates in the first place. I allow them but I keep a close eye. This guy got past me for a week because of the holidays, and because of my New Year's resolution to smoke a lot more weed in 2014.

                  What I do have is:
                  Name: William Agarwal
                  IP address 103.14.63.172
                  user: Belowtheground

                  Seems he has access to a botnet, all user IP's seemed legit, residential connections in the correct geography. (I force the billing address to match in my fraud controls)
                  - As soon as I think up a good sig it's going here.
