Hey workaholic guys... how you deal with vacations time?
I will be working just 4 hours a day in my vacations in brazil

I have no problem checking work emails and doing some remote managing while on vacation. I don't (yet?) have the need to completely tune off in order to have good vacation.

Leave the laptop at home

If your working 4hrs then its not a vacation, also make sure you check your cel plan before leaving or the roaming charges may be more than what your vacation costs, just a couple vaca tips

i am still working every day, cant take fucking vacation yet. but when i will, ill even throw the phone away too.

4hrs each day on vacation still seems a bit much. Of course if that's what you need to do then so be it.

When i'm on vacation I prefer an almost full shutdown from work...

On those very rare occasions, I even leave my phone on silent and don't check it more than once or twice a day. If I'm away, I'm away, but that almost never happens these days.

When I got on vacation I don't even tell anyone.... I bring a laptop, go to Hawaii, get up early, work as much as I can, then hit the beach.

I only respond to urgent emails on vacation but I also make sure all the pending projects were finished before I go away

I stopped doing 10+ hours a day some time ago and never felt better. Now I concentrate more and when I work I work and when I mess around I mess around. There is no real need to work more than 6-8 hours a day it is all in our head.

I got really excited when I read the thread title, thinking it was referring to the show, "workaholics".

But, workaholics work every day! Even if it's just checking and answering emails. A vacation is always the best though, enjoy it!

I leave everything ready before taking my time off. Once I'm on vacation I might check my email just out of curiosity, if something urgent comes up, they'll call me on the phone.
