Man Claims You Can Heat Your House With Soda Cans

    What say you?

Americans recycle around 61 billion soda cans every year. With this man?s invention, that could heat almost 250 million homes. No expense. No maintenance.

Using regular recycled aluminum cans, a Newfoundland man has converted them into a powerful solar heating panel. According to his tests, the solar panels are able to generate around 10,000 BTUs ? enough to heat a small home.

There are lots of inexpensive homemade contraptions that can be used to heat small buildings when the sun is out.

I've seen similar DIY aluminum can heaters 10 years ago on green energy sites.

Yeah, for tiny house enthusiasts it's not a bad solution.

You can live with out cooling, but you can't live with out heat in a lot of places.

you'd really have to have one of those per room. He mentioned that the fan pulling the cold air in, is only 100 CFM. That's weaker than most bathroom fans or in-line duct fans and wouldn't do much for a house, unless it was really small and open concept. Still it has it's place and would be good for a shed, or a garage.

I'm pretty sure you could mount more than one on the roof and have a few more intake vents and heating vents to heat a whole house.

People make these all the time and use them as food dehydrators. Even for that it needs to be about 5 feet by 4 feet, painted flat black and enclosed in a glass box. Still applaud the idea. Might be better used as insulation.
