![]() I know I won't mine anything much with my computer, but just for shits and giggles.
I am talking about mining solo with my CPU (Unless I can mine it as with GPU if integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 counts as GPU?). Which miner to download as the one that is recommended in official forum does not work and on top of that AVG says it has malware. ![]() |

Unless you got a I7 i don't think there is a (non zombie) scrypt coin you will have fun with. SHA coins are out of question anyway. If you got a decent CPU you could try to pool mine a lower difficulty coin like SexCoin. With a i5-2500K you can get about 45 kh/s with a i7-3930K up to 100 what should give you 20 to 40 SXC per day (just a wild guess, maybe i am wrong).
If you just want to learn about solo and pool mining you could also try one of the CPU coins that are not on an exchange yet. I mine this coin from time to time, just because OFF is kind of cool and easy to mine, even with a Q9550 ![]() Offerings "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn" ![]() |

Forgot to mentioned that 64bit windows/linux is more or less a must. Still, 5 kh/s seems to be very low. What i7? https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison
On the other hand, if you mine scrypt-jane with high N 5kh is pretty good. My core 2 Quad gets only 0.9 kh/s for GPL . |

Download cudaminer and make a .bat file in the folder. Run it.
Code:
cudaminer.exe -H 2 -d 0,1,2 -i 1,0,0 -l auto,F27x3,K28x4 -C 0,2,1 -o stratum+tcp://yourchosenpool.info:3333 -u username -p password |

That's not entirely true. With primecoin solo and pool mining (single PC) worked out for more then one week. You could easily mine Quark for months. Stupid me mined ony 4K, just because i was to lazy to read and understand the paramenters of quark.Even scrypt coins can be worth cpu mining, as long as they are not on a exchange. Scrypt-jane and quark type coins even after they gain some value. 5k seems to be terribly low for a i7 3770. A 7850 is not bad. Last week i decided to get a little bit more serious about mining. Was told that 7950 is out of stock and S9 280 is not available before next month (Hungary). All i got was a 7770 ![]() ![]() . |

Download the MinerD program.
Signup for a pool acct at http://www.dogepool.net Then from command prompt (or making a .bat file) type in the following: minerd.exe -o stratum+tcp://dogepool.net:4444 -u YourWorker.Name -p YourPassword Its that simple ![]()

I assume you would download doge-qt and go to help > debug window > console. Type setgenerate true. Then wait a minute and type getmininginfo to see your hash rate.

As to you wanting to go solo, there's nothing bad about joining a pool, otherwise you're hoping to be the miner that has the 1 in a milion share that ends up solving a block...by joining a pool, the pool knows the work you've done and will reward you proportionally per any block that any one miner in the pool solves.

Yes, this tutorial propose this mining package:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/wn...ingPackage.rar But AVG says its malware and on top of that it does not work, how exactly to run it in solo mode for cpu? |

how about mining on amazon EC2 or other cloud platforms that you pay by the hour?

Winning a DOGE block with CPU mining is very unlikely. At 50kh/s (which is probably generous) the average time to win a block will be more than a year. During that time difficulty will probably go up, which could extend the time to 2 or 3 years, or even longer. A single DOGE block is currently worth around $USD275 so it's not going to be something you can easily mine.
I currently have 1900kh/s of mining power and generally cease solo mining a coin once difficulty goes above about 2...beyond that the block win rate becomes too inconsistent. DOGE difficulty is currently 454. |

There are some coins where it may be profitable to use GPU (not CPU) cloud instances, but the profits are small so to make anything decent you'd need to scale up to hundreds of instances. The daily costs of that many GPU instances are going to be substantial so you need to be fairly confident that you can consistently cash out your coins to cover costs. |

The guy CPU mining 30 DOGE/week would have been doing it via a pool, where the work (and proceeds of blocks won) is shared between multiple miners. BTW 30 DOGE is worth less than 2 cents. |

Mining in a pool for dogecoin should, realistically, depending on the power of your GPU get you anywhere from 600-10,000 coins per block, sometimes more.
Pools can break hundreds of blocks a day, so anyone telling you that you will only make 30 dogecoins a day pool mining is either talking out of their ass or, using an Atari 800 to do the mining ![]()

http://www.dogepool.net is where I am using and I am pretty happy with the results. I have a broken old laptop running doing the mining and that's pulling in around 1000 coins (give or take) for every block that gets found, then I will randomly fire up the miner on my main desktop and that will bump up the rewards to close to 8000 for each block while I am working.
