Americans generally let fear dictate their lives. Show enough beheadings on the news and tell them that it's coming to their neighborhood, and they will get behind anything or anyone who says they can stop it. The media coverage and fear mongering on this has been unbelievable.
Of course, such a thing only increases the risk of it happening, but the general pubic is too stupid to realize this. Just keep hammering them with shit to be afraid of and they eventually cower and continue voting for the same mad men who keep the cycle going.Comment

There's some wonderfully good Americans and I don't want to appear to be anti-"them". But I kind of have to agree with what you wrote. There's a strong narcissistic culture in the United States created by too much consumerism and patriotic propaganda. I've often found that narcissistic are very much controlled by their fears. Now if the dominant culture is in itself narcissistic then everyone is going to be on some level. But obviously some people are going to be affected by it more so than others.
Regards to this ISIS, it's clear that the United States invasion and subsequent destabilization of the middle east caused the current situation. It also doesn't help that they tortured, killed thousands of innocent civilians, used slave labor to build a 600 million dollar luxury embassy in Iraq and turned the city of Fallujah into a radioactive waste land. So logically these people are going to turn into barbarians looking for blood.
So really the only real possible solution is for the western nations to just leave the region and let them work things out for themselves. uhmm... you can clearly hear them describing the situation, that they are armed, that they have small arms and RPGs, that they are firing, they are asking for permission to engage and take them out, getting clearance etc etc etc etc etc. It's hardly just a couple dudes firing at heat signatures for fun. Targets are reported, physically sighted, tracked, verified, captured on video and ultimately taken out. It's hardly random.
...But don't let facts get in that way of your misguided ranting..
