"Massive Growth Ahead In Net Traffic" -- The Register
(Found link on ynotmasters)
http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/6/29537.html ....Traffic over the Internet is set to double every year for the next five years, according to IDC. The market research firm predicts the volume of Internet traffic generated by end users worldwide will nearly double annually between 2002 and 2007. This will mean an increase in traffic from 180 petabits per day in 2002 to 5,175 petabits per day by the end of 2007...... I think maybe they are giving too much weight to proxy based hitbot users. ![]() |

I'll bet a fair chunk of that increase will be foreign traffic.

"The market research firm predicts the volume of Internet traffic generated by end users worldwide will nearly double annually between 2002 and 2007."
Impossible !!!!! think about it right now 2002 - 500million users end of 2003 - 1 billion end of 2004 - 2 billion end of 2005 - 4 billion end of 2006 - 8 billion < thats already more people that are alive in Earth lets do it backwards end of 2002 = 500 million end of 2001 = 250 million end of 2000 = 125 million end of 99 = 62.5 million end of 98 = 33 million end of 97 = 16.5 million ?? its a known fact that traffic on the web has NEVER double annually. THE only thing thats true, is most of the growth will come from foreign and 3rd world worthless countries. |

Thats because you are stupid. The volume of internet traffic will double anually. Not the number of people using the internet. It will increase as more people get broadband connections and can download movies, etc. |
