My 9-to-5 is a city bylaw officer (manager) - so yep...I see it spiral out of control on a daily basis.

Jack the real wheels up and pull the car till the car is sideways blocking the street.
Call police and report the car blocking the street.

Last week I discovered that my new upstairs neighbor has a drum kit. He was playing in the afternoon for about 20 min. It didn't bother me too much because I was at the other end of the apartment during that time of day. I decided that I would let it be for the time being.

A few nights later he somehow decided that it would be a good idea to play at 10 PM. I did not agree. He has not played since.

It depends if I could squeeze in/out somehow or not.

If not possible to squeeze and I want to go out I would knock at neighbor's and ask for car removal.
If not possible to squeeze and I want to go in I would park on the street and drive it in later.

If he saw that you could get in/out and there was no other space for him to park then no principle should apply. If he had the space to move further away from your driveway then it may be principle.

There's always another place to park somewhere.

The excuse, "There was nowhere else is park" is bullshit-eze for laziness.

Wrong, I never park that way and always care if I am blocking something.
However when speaking about situation when you block part of drive way, but you see that it is still easy way out into it there is no need to go park somewhere far away. If you see that it definitely won't cause trouble.

Blocking ANY portion of a driveway is not only trouble...it's illegal. In our city the bylaw requires a vehicle to be a minimum of 1.4 metres from the curb cut of the driveway. Anything less is considered an infraction and can be ticketed.

What seems like 'no trouble' to you - can easily become a line-of-sight safety issue for the person trying to get out of the driveway - especially if the vehicle blocking the driveway is a large SUV, minivan, Hummer, etc.

funny that, I have a private parking lot, with 3 signs , with Private property, tagged or towed etc on it. Arrogant pricks park right under the signs, like they are entitled. Had many screaming arguments with idiots. Most of the time, I just call the city they will issue a $30 ticket.:thumbsup

I'd probably just go and ask them to move it if it was stopping me from doing something. If it wasn't then I'd mention it to them the next time I saw them.

If it was me i would accidentally put my jeep in neurtal and let one of my tires do its thing on that car but exacly and only to the area that is in my territory hehe
