About 3 years ago you could mine with a laptop. The mining difficulty has increased though. Now, even using special mining software you will struggle to make more than a few dollars a week and these machines are expensive.

Right now you need at least 3 ASICs configured in PARALLEL, to break even.
Thats a 30K investment. But in around 2 months, you will need 4 ASICs to break even and so on...Comment

Your only chance is to mine new or less popular coins with low difficulty and trade those for BTC. It is possible to make some nice money that way. When protoshares came out i mined 50 of them (about $1k at the moment) with a core 2 quad within 2 hours. I had similar luck with other coins. You just need some luck and a good nose
My suggestion, if you really want to get into crypto coins without investing some real money, is: Take a lot of read on crypto coins and even more time for thinking about what you have read. While you do so mine some of the rather easy to mine coins, join some alt coin exchanges and use the coins you have mined to bet on other coins. That way I have made a few $10k this year despite the fact that gambling, ehm.... i mean trading, never was my thing and my hardware is not really suitable for mining (never was into gameing so all my graphic cards are rather low end). I know some others that made a few $100k this year, just with a good graphic card and the right nose.

Doing mining would probably shorten laptop lifetime (or melt it down), so it's really not a tool to do mining with.
Next mining bitcoins with such (slow) hash rate is not a good idea... You might try and mine some other coins and keep them until their value rises or trade them for bitcoins or just sell them.
If you want to mine bitcoins - the best way is to rent cloud mining at CEX. It costs about $65 (0.07 BTC per 1 GHs) in today exchange rate for 1 GH/s and that's really cheap and the best part is that you can sell your rented equipment any time and get some (or even more money) for it. So you got nothing to loose. The only problem is that you need to have bitcoins since buying mining power is done only using bitcoins
Buying dedicated mining equipment is really expensive, devices are often poorly built and many people wait for months to get them delivered etc... so it's IMO lot of risk to put your money into since if the BitCoin bubble bursts - that equipment is totally useless...

probably best thing would be to download photoshop to start with and if you have a decent color printer, they will turn out nice. i recommend photo quality paper
