Yup, we were out for drinks with Ross last night and we heard people talking about it. It was only when we got back home later on and switched the tv on we saw the scale of what had actually just happened.

i am not a helicopter specialist but even if both engines fail, a heli usually levitates (?) relatively slowly to the ground as long as the rotor still turns. this sounds like the main rotor just stopped abruptly
