I don't think you will find any Einstein quotes that even remotely read/sound like this

"We don’t got it like that. When I tell you only seven black billionaires, look at marginalization, and we feel like we happy because me and Rick Ross got it made, or I got a spread outside, a couple of us, or they put a black president.

Man, let me tell you something about George Bush and oil money and Obama and no money. People want to say Obama can't make these moves or he's not executing. That's because he ain't got those connections. Black people don't have the same level of connections as Jewish people. Black people don't have the same connection as oil people.

You know we don't know nobody that got a nice house. You know we don’t know nobody with paper like that we can go to when we down. You know they can just put us back or put us in a corporation. You know we ain’t in situation. Can you guarantee that your daughter can get a job at this radio station? But if you own this radio station, you could guarantee that. That’s what I’m talking about.

Wealth is not the measure of a man.

He may have millions...but unlike him I don't awake each morning to the reality that a large number of people think I'm a talentless, media-hyped, smug, arrogant douchebag.

bhutocracy 11-28-2013 09:38 PM

At best the video is trolling.. at worst.. well..
That said it's hilarious hearing the frustrated rock stars and close minded idiots here whine about Kanye. Yeah he's no genius, that's a pretty high bar to set and it's easy picking him off it. He's not even a good rapper, especially if you've seen him try and freestyle around other rappers.
He is however pretty damn good at making and producing music. I used to be knee jerk ignorant too (as well as being a frustrated rock star). I was going to a festival where he was headlining and explicitly didn't want to see him and complained about his appearance taking the spot of better bands.
In the end I figured probably a quarter of the whole ticket price ($450) was probably going just to him vs the other hundred bands over the three days so I'd better get my money's worth and it wasn't like anything better was on at headliner time. Knowing that I was going to see him I actually listened to some of his stuff. This was a couple of years ago and he was touring My Twisted Dark Fantasy. It's a really good album. Very clever compositions. At least four truly great tracks on it. Completely changed my opinion of his music. Can't say I've listened to it or anything he's done before or since, but if they came on the radio while I was driving I would happily tap along.

I can't say I'm a fan of rap (maybe 0.2% of my collection is that kinda crossover stuff.. Liking "Thriftshop" doesn't make you a rap fan), I think he's Grade A dickhead and so on but anyone that thinks he's talentless is a fucking know nothing retard of the highest order. He's got oodles of talent, just not a scintilla of commonsense.

Fucking Elvis. LOL. The goon didn't even write his own songs. He was the plastic manufactured Justin Bieber of his day, a pretty voice and a pretty face doing good covers.

You guys.

Are you saying West has 100 mill in the bank because he is living in a 11 mill home?
He could have $0 and have a 11 mill mortgage on a home worth 10 mill..

You guys.

I always thought of Elvis as an "old guy" when I was growing up.

But seriously...the guy was one of the greatest singer/entertainers in modern history.
Comparing him to Justin Bieber is so far off base it's not even funny.

If you've ever seen his 1968 "comeback" special...then you would realize why he's "The King".

Like I said... he was a little before my time. But as I grew older and started to really appreciate his ability, I realized just why he was the biggest entertainment phenomena of the 20th century.

Bieber? :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Robbie 11-28-2013 10:17 PM

And I'll just say it one more time for fun:

Kanye West is fucking lame. He's pretty much talentless and would never have made it past auditioning for a garage band.

To put him on a level with truly great black artists like James Brown, Marvin Gay, Miles Davis, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, and the list goes on and on ... is ridiculous.

He may have a few tunes that are pleasant and work good on the dance floor for girls to shake their asses too. Nothing wrong with that kind of bubblegum shit pop.

But I was actually talking about how he is referred to in the media as some kind of "genius".

He ain't even close.

And that song and video that was in the first post is god-fucking-awful.

How many of you have $100 in your savings account? Or have any account?

As soon as I was old enough to find out he didn't write his own songs I lost any shred of respect I might have had for him. He's lucky people with real talent put "shit pop music" into his mouth to croon like a wind up monkey.. He's a glorified set of speakers pumping out the creativity of others. He's also lucky he came at a time of universal audience attention with 4 tv channels and no way to escape him instead of the fragmented marketplace there is now. Then again you can say that of many people, Rolling Stones etc etc.

I wouldn't call Elvis talentless, he had a good voice, but good voices are a dime a dozen, you can't piss at an Idol audition without hitting a few but I have far more respect for people that create music. If he was 18 today trying to break into the industry no one would give a flying fuck about him which shows his true worth.. Even total jackbags like Kanye who use samples I put far higher in the scheme of things than pretty looking vocal stenographers. Honestly no different to Bieber, just Bieber is a bit younger and therefore even more calculated to appeal to little girls and fake.

Well, kanye's "runaway" was a good song. :-)

Well blutocracy, I guess that would mean Frank Sinatra also sucks by your logic.

If you really understood singing and phrasing you would understand why Frank and Elvis are two of the greatest male pop singers ever.

Yeah, I know what you're saying about the creative part. I am more into that as well.

Elvis and Frank didn't write shit and they were still in a league that a clown like Kanye will never, ever come close to.

To me the greatest songwriters of our lifetime were McCartney and Lennon.
Next would have to be Dylan (it could be argued that it would be the other way around).

But to put Kanye in that league is just not right either.

He doesn't have the musical skills that great singers like Elvis and Frank had.

And he doesn't have the songwriting abilities of The Beatles (or a 10 year old kid for that matter).

Hell, I like some of his stuff too. I also like pro wrestling and enjoyed the movie "Pacific Rim".
Again, I was simply commenting that he's no "creative genius" in any shape or form as he has been called by the media as they try to shove him down our throats.

The Runaway album and long video was pretty good, but this is utter shit :)

ilnjscb 11-29-2013 09:29 AM

I'd say Kanye O. West and others of his ilk deserve fame exactly as much as Jackson Pollock, Robert Motherwell, Willem de Kooning and Mark Rothko. And I'm sure he is famous and gets attention for exactly the same reason.
