Anyone here ever submit an invention idea to Edison Nation or Quirky?

I have an idea for an invention and its going to cost a lot of money to make a prototype.
I was wondering if anyone here ever submitted an idea to either of them and if you're glad or you regret it

I'd pay for a patent before submitting anything to anybody in all honesty. I know it is expensive but may be worth it in the end.
