Fastest Fucking Truck Ever!

This thing is the fastest most bad ass looking truck ever....

http://www.tri-statemuscle.com/phpBB...2353&view=next

screw that dodge coming out.. this thing is nuts..
read this, how does 500 horsepower sound. and 50 more whenever you fuckin need it.. im waiting in line for one of these!

"Ford's patented SuperCooler technology cleverly provides a special burst of power for the SVT Lightning concept. Traditional intercoolers dissipate heat from the supercharged air by circulating coolant through a front-mounted, air-cooled radiator. With the SuperCooler system, the vehicle's air conditioning system is used to chill a small storage tank of coolant to about 30 degrees Fahrenheit.

On demand, the SuperCooler system switches the intercooler flow from its normal circulation and dumps the chilled coolant into the engine's intercooler. In turn, the intercooler dissipates up to 20 percent more heat from the charge air - resulting in a denser air charge.

A green light on the instrument panel indicates the system's readiness. SuperCooler is activated automatically when the driver depresses the accelerator to a wide-open-throttle position.

"This technology plays directly into the hands of the enthusiast," Coletti says. "The SuperCooler provides the edge for the driver, and it is done simply by taking advantage of the hardware that already exists in the vehicle."

As a result of this cool technology, the SVT Lighting concept can give its driver as much as 50 transient horsepower for short bursts of 30-45 seconds and regenerate within 2 minutes under normal driving conditions. While its effect is similar to that of an aftermarket nitrous oxide system, the SuperCooler is completely self-contained, environmentally friendly and regenerative."

That truck is ugly. Fast, but ugly. I would rather buy the current, soon to be older, style.

those new designs blow.

but.. the old body lightning rocks... they can regularly school cobra's or z28's stock...

I think they run 12.1, which aint bad stock for a $30k truck

There's what you should put in your Galaxie. No supercharger here. Just pure cubic inches. 620 HP off of pump gas.

Hmm a supercharger feeds off the engine itself, not exhaust gasses like turbos do, and delivers instant boost. What is the benefit of cubic inches here? An supercharged engine is more compact and lightweight. Oh, yeah, it also sounds weight more high-tech

yes, it will. the cayenne does 0-60 in like 5.6 i think. that doge does it in 5.1 and im sure the lightning wont be much better than that.

as for me, stock 0-60 in 4.6 seconds.

Nice truck, dude. And that is an honest 4.6 seconds. Wish I could get my hands on a sy or a ty.

Got this quote from http://www.syty.org/old/faq.html

"In 1/4 mile tests done by Car and Driver and other mags, the Syclone would beat a Ferrari 348ts"

also a quote of them beating ferrari testarossa's.

cool! Also, the Syclone and Typhoon are still the fastest production trucks ever built. Those old V-6 turds will still trounce a lightning. Damn I want one!

man, u have to drive one! Its soooo much fun. AWD 4.3 V6 Turbo, need I say more? and 3,500 lbs. hehe... and yes, it beat that ferrari in everything but top speed. I still cook porsches everytime I take it out.

Keep your eyes peeled on ebay, there is usually one or two on there.

2,889 made, i got #289.

I want either a Grand National, a Syclone, or a Typhoon. True, not lofty wishes, but to find an original one in good shape is near impossible. I live in Northern Canada, which hampers my search. Nice ride, dude! What I wouldn't pay to see a cocky porsche owner waxed by an 'S-10'.
I have driven a Grand National in my past life, and that thing just amazed me. I was on a highway, pinned it, and laid a VERY long strip of 2nd gear rubber going about 60 mph. That is what hooked me on those GM V-6 turbos....When I floored it, that car was totally freaky. And it was stock.

I saw that motor debuted on one of them TNN shows...
Kick ass it is, but I'm don't wanna bother putting a Chevy motor in a Ford.
Maybe in my '55 Chevy though.

Is yours modified at all?
My typhoon has pretty much everything done to it besides the motor.

syclone.

The dodge and the ford will smoke your stock syclone.
0-60 is quick on the syclone but nobody races 0-60...
and since my syclone i owened for 7 years ran a 14.1 @ 96mph (STOCK) in the quarter mile i think you might have some catching up to do.

Last years lightning ran low 12's with only a different set of pulleys and exhaust system.... and that truck has 350hp.
this thing is 550hp... put some nice slicks on the thing and say goodbye to any truck on the road

A ford lightning with pulleys, exhaust and slicks is not stock, moron.

A 2001 Lightning, stock:
0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds
1/4 mile at 100 mph in 13.9 seconds
Which is insane fast for a truck, but a turd compared to some of the cars being built now....
I like the lightning, though. A very cool truck.

Read your post, fudgepacker. You were comparing 1/4 times between a stock Syclone and a modded lightning. Did you ever even own a Syclone? I smell bullshit here, and it definitely ain't mine, sunshine!
