I think the demand put on healthcare.gov is in fact a testament that it is something that is in demand...that kind of demand certainly indicates a need to me. Its way too early to call it a success or a failure...Mike South

Exactly. The insurance itself doesn't go live until January and it will likely take different states a while to get people enrolled and into the program. Many of those without insurance now don't have it because they either can't afford it or they can't get it because of preexisting conditions. For them this will work great.
By the time the next presidential election comes up we will have a solid take on just how good or bad it is and that reality will likely play a major role in the next election.Comment

So, why wouldn't the uninsured apply for subsidized coverage.
If they are piss poor they would qualify for Medicaid.
If they want to conserve capital and shoot craps with their healthcare costs -- let them post a $100,000 payment guarantee bond. Put up or STFU.Comment

It's a bit too early to call it a success. This is a process, and this is one of the first steps of the process. Obamacare is a law and it will go into place shortly, and then we'll need to find out where it has issues and fix them.
This is exactly what they did with Romneycare. It went into place, figured out what did't work, then they fixed it.Herschel Savage

I read an op-ed in the NYPost last week where some dumb bitch was saying that if you're young, you shouldn't buy health insurance. Some other stupid Republican on a talk show said the alternative to Obamacare should be "healthcare savings plans". They live so much in their own little bubble, they think everyone can save enough money to pay $30,000 if you break a leg.

So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
