    Just in case anyone is actually considering donating (to Red Cross Philippines) don't bother...

    This statement (below) is of course absolute and total bullshit.

    Now I know there are a lot of callous and selfish assholes here on GFY but I can't believe anyone with even half a heart would make up such a ridiculous claim to try to STOP AID from going to these people who are suffering so incredibly badly.

    I live in Indonesia part time and I witnessed the aftermath of the mega tsunami and I have have stood on a beach where 10,000 people were washed out to sea. I have seen with my own eyes the courageous and selfless acts of the heros of the Red Cross.

    VDbucks claims to have experience in the Philippines and I'm sure there is rampant corruption with government officials...but this claim of 90 percent of our Red Cross donations going to line the pockets of corrupt officials is absurd beyond belief. If you know anything about the Red Cross you know that this an outlandish and vicious lie. The real number is probably closer to 3-5 percent.

    Anyone doing business with VDbucks may want to think twice next time and realize they are dealing with a delusional and vicious prick.

    Many of us in this community have used Filipino Programmers and Designers over the years and have profited greatly from their efforts. Maybe its time to give back a little to these hard working and loyal people who are suffering so greatly.

      Well I don't know what the actual percentage is but it wouldn't surprise me if a large percentage of relief aid and donation funds did go into the pockets of corrupt government officials. I know first hand just how corrupt it can be there.

                                      I think the red cross is a pretty good organization. I would imagine that administration costs are more than 5% of donations, but what to do? Send the money to the government is like flushing it in the toilet. I know first hand the waste and corruption from the tsunami in aceh. Those people were lucky to get 2% of donations. Even the red cross had to pay bribes to get in and help those people... but that's a different story.

                                                  I was in Aceh after the tsunami and yes of course there is corruption - I have been taken in by the police there and shaken down and extorted for money - everyone on our boat had their passports taken for no reason - had to pay big bribes to get them back..

                                                  But you saying "Those people were lucky to get 2%" is just a total myth and only makes less people donate - we are talking about the Red Cross not sending money directly to the gov.

                                                  And "Administration Costs" are essential to any large organization that needs to mobilize thousands of people and direct resources coming in from dozens of different countries- how are administrations costs avoidable... VDbucks is not talking about "Administration Costs" he is saying that 90 percent of the funds go directly into the pockets of corrupt officials.

                                                      The third worst offender was again for the 7th time was, Brian Gallagher, President of the United Way receives a $375,000 base salary (U.S. funds), plus so many numerous expense benefits it's hard to keep track as to what it is all worth, including a fully paid lifetime membership for 2 golf courses (1 in Canada, and 1 in the U.S.A.), 2 luxury vehicles, a yacht club membership, 3 major company gold credit cards for his personal expenses...and so on. This equates to about $0.51 per dollar of income goes to charity causes.

                                                          Out Government cannot mingled about donations in private sector like corporate enterprises as they do it by themselves and not giving to our government. I am shock the VDBUCKS claim that way while he earned and used most of her sites are Filipina and even she paid those girls but $250 per movie is not enough. (Rate is a case study from one of my friend who work as a model from american company.)

I can absolutely tell you that millions of dollars of goods destined for Aceh victims found their way into the black market. I have also heard that the Red Cross had to pay the government money to enter into Aceh to start the relief efforts. There are also thousands of Javanese workers that the red cross never paid or under paid. The red cross received over 2 billion dollars in donations for the tsunami fund and I will kiss you ass if half of that was spent in the region.

But if you think 95% of donations(including logistics) go to the people in need, you are living on fantasy island. It is more efficient than sending cash to these governments, so it is a good option to get some relief to people in need. Let's be honest, it is far from perfect.

                                                                                                          No I wasn't saying that - I was saying that the percentage of Red Cross donations to Philippines that ACTUALLY go into the POCKETS of corrupt officials is a tiny amount. Of course there is waste and administrative costs. But embezzlement - yea probably around 5 percent but no one can ever know... the point is we need to help and the Red Cross is the best way I know of.

I have been here awhile and I have never seen a child prostitute in an expat place. That shit goes on in the kampung and is largely NOT frowned upon in the culture.
