I heard some religious people send money to Red Cross - the whole organisation should be made illegal.
Let's chip in to help the Philippines...post charities here.

Red Cross isn't the problem, but don't let that stop people like adendreams demonizing the facts surrounding the corruption that will prevent the vast majority of any aid sent to the PI from reaching those who need it.Comment

The points being made by vdbucks and DWB are sadly true, as evidenced by reports in this article http://news.yahoo.com/typhoon-deaths...200523335.html saying "The Philippine National Red Cross said its efforts were hampered by looters, including some who attacked trucks of food and other relief supplies it was shipping to Tacloban from the southern port of Davao."
However, whilst it is true that corruption is rife a lot of aid intended for the people that need it will not get there, this happens everywhere not just Philippines and should not dissuade people from donating as even if only 20% of your donation gets used to help people, that is still 20% more than they will get if you do nothing.

Thank you for this. Excellent point. I live in the Philippines and know full well what you're talking about. In the end, even if it is 20% it is still better than zero.
