![]() Been having tons of issues with IE since moving to Windows 8.1.
IE11 is just so damn buggy... First it'll randomly crash on sites which require some sort of input, browsing for files to attach, etc... Next if you browse for extended periods of time, say a few hundred pages visited, when you go to open a link into a new window, the window falls into IE and all tabs go blank. Only way to fix is to kill IE in task manager. After that I noticed that if you have "Smart Scroll" enabled (default), pages with fixed backgrounds will flicker/jump on scrolling. Disabling this default fixes the issue. Now Google PlusOne buttons do not show up ie IE11, just show the plain text count... I know people say don't use IE, IE sucks, etc... but doesn't really help when you have to develop for every browser. I use Firefox, Chrome, Safari, IE, Android, iPod Touch, iPad to test on... and with IE 8-10, it's been pretty much the same as all the other desktop browsers, IE 11 is looking to be a pain again... All this doesn't help when we're right in the middle of a full on redesign lol Sorry for the rant ![]() |

LOL when 20% of the people visiting your site are using IE, it's a pretty important browser to develop for ;)
They all have their issues, but honestly IE 10 was damn near perfect. Chrome has a few weird things it displays differently than the other 3 main desktop browsers, but changes to CSS can most of the time get around them. Firefox is slow as hell while scrolling through pages with lots of transparency (no hardware acceleration). But IE11 is just broke on a few things, no workarounds you can do on the development side for those... |
