Pretty fun weekend for me. Saturday morning one of my beer fans announced that he was going to be too busy to go to the UCLA homecoming game at the Rose Bowl. I [jokingly] asked if he needed someone to attend in his place. A few minutes later I had two tickets on the 40 yard line and passes to the Chancellor's Bruin Game Day Party. I have not been to a college football game since the Bluebonnet Bowl on New Years Eve 1982. Tailgating was a very new experience for me, and I never pictured it like this.

You can see all the pics on Facebook. Unfortunately, they would not let me bring the camera in the stadium.

On Sunday we headed to Studio City for the BeerFest for BeerGeeks; nothing but sours, barrel-aged and one-offs. Really good time.

I could not believe it. I mean everyone has a friggin iPhone and staff is even taking photos of people for them with the phone. I was pissed . . . . plus I had to walk all the way back to the car to get rid of the camera.

That's in Little Manly Bay, Auckland, New Zealand. The fish is called Snapper. It's quite popular in this part of the world. Really tasty. I caught 4 of them this weekend.

There are several species that are called "snapper" they all are sort of red-ish and have teeth. They are called differently in different parts of the world.
