I'm not sure the logic here. One of the biggest money makers, ever, in the history of money making, is to offer a discount (aka trial). If subscription is half off first month, I certainly hope the rebills come in at full price.
But people like the *illusion* they are getting a deal. It's an awesome idea!
Someone way back was asking what to do about a site similar in name to this... I have no idea, it may have been this site. But it was just an affiliate type of site and I had mentioned why not actually contact programs and offer your surfers a true discount.
Trials/discounts... rebills, (never, never add non-recurring option) is where the money is.Comment

Many, many, MANY people simply will not purchase a recurring Membership - PERIOD. They won't buy a trial, they won't buy a recurring Membership. So what about those customers? Forget about them? No - offer a one-time only subscription.
And make that subscription price THREE TIMES (or twice) the price of the recurring? Maybe - depending on your site (frequency of updates, content, bonus material, etc). But even then, many many people simply will not pay $70 for a 3 month porn Membership (or can't afford to).
In terms of total revenue I will match my company's performance against any similar-sized company's "rebills-only" business model. Especially these days, where the average rebill is 2-3 months and many surfers choose the lower-priced rebill option only to turn around and cancel 3 minutes after signing up.
But hey, differant strokes for differant folks. But offering discounts via email marketing, or a seasonal 'special', is far, far differant than lowering your prices and offering consistent discounts. ESPECIALLY if you have business partners (the pie is only so big) let alone affiliates. Sorry, not convinced.
If your site is worth six figures then I'm the Queen of China. LOL

I've done it long enough the way everyone *told* me I needed to. I never bought into it, so I changed it.
You know what site I am testing right now... and income made October from September is 60% higher. I am predicting over a 100% increase in income in November compared to September. Then higher in December and will continue to grow until it levels off. We tried everything, mixing recurring, non-recurring, trials, half discounts, etc. etc. etc... never in a billion years would I see the results like above. And I will not add a 1 time option on initial tour to sale... maybe a last chance option... or email offer... but that would be the only place.
You do know that MANY people offer a straight up $1 trial for 2 or 3 days and that is it right? That is their pricing plan, and they bank on the rebills. However, I think that model is flawed in that it generates too many cancellations.
Back to my point though... offering essentially a coupon is not, at all, a bad idea. The programs then need to rebill it correctly, but heh... most likely back to horrible join forms

Porndeals doesn't force programs to give discounts, it gives the programs the opportunity to give the amount of discount that works for them. They wouldn't give discounts that would drive them into the ground. We provide discounts for the biggest programs out there, so they probably know what they are doing.

I don't really see the coupon on any sponsor site though. When I click... it is the price, rebilled at the same price. Nothing on sponsor sites is showing *TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PORNDEALS COUPON TODAY! HALF PRICE... LIMITED TIME ONLY*
I know it is growing pains, etc. but that is what I'm talking about. Then that sponsor needs to have the knowledge to raise the rebill price after. All of that is join page stuff.
