Pretty unreal shit there. But I do have to agree that I do not understand why there were not emergency lights blazing like crazy. Not saying it would have changed anything, but I'm saying it makes no sense to sit on a highway as if it's a parking lot. Jesus.

When I'm riding my motorcycle, I stay away from trucks. They are rolling disasters. That said, I see cops all the time parking their cruisers like they expect someone to hit them. It's just not safe for them to be on the side of the road because of idiots like this that don't take driving seriously

Arizona.

And agreed on the cop car being in the middle of a highway with no lights on and really no reason from what I can tell. Arizona is a lot of straight, long highways with lots of blowing dust. Just last week there was a 19 car pile up due to a dust storm and unfortunately three people died. So semi-truck or not, the cop made a bad choice because of of the other numerous things that could have happened by being parked in the middle of a fucking highway.

I lived in Phoenix for six or seven years yet never saw one of these dust storms.

I don't understand why anyone lives in Arizona - Freaking brutally hot, ugly, nasty place with stupid weather. I hated it there.

I agree. Sadly the truck driver will pay for this for the rest of his life.

I've noticed lately that cops on traffic stops will put the car half on the shoulder, half in the lane -- or they'll angle the nose outward into the lane. I was guessing this is to keep people from zipping by. It really makes you take notice and slow down. I don't know if this is a recent tactic, or I just never noticed before.

But this is taking it to the extreme. Combine that with retard behind the wheel, and it's death. That cop was dumb to put so much faith in highway drivers.

Lucky he didn't kill more than just the one. Looked like he took out both cop cars and the car that was pulled over.

They must be insane to charge him with 2nd Murder
He might get off
Even 2nd requires intent, right, but no premeditation?

Murder 2 because it was a police officer
I have less faith in the system on a daily basis

The guy should definitely do some time, that is for sure. Why the hell is driving a truck down the road @ 65mph and not watching the road? Christ.

On my way back from Vegas to Arizona we saw a dust tunnel over on the side of the road, nothing big. Well it was strong enough to pick up a huge speed limit sign that was on the ground which then flew in the air and then landed on the car mirror and took it off. I am just thankful it didn't land on the windshield to where we couldn't see. Scary ass shit, you just never know how powerful those dust storms are.

And not sure if this was on the news yesterday, but yes he was on his phone. This happened back in May but it sounds like the news just got ahold of the footage from the dash cam.
