Anyone been to Tunisia?

horrible country. Went for a week and it was the worst vacation i ever had because of the people. Highly annoying and it made me decide i will never ever go on a vacation to a muslim country again.

Awful place and no guarantee of nice weather in November in the Med resorts - You would be much better off in the Canary Islands....

I went as well. Pretty stupid place for a vacation longer then a day.

Skip Tunisia and go to Tangier. Walk into any bar. See a woman there? She can be yours for a third of euro whores.

Look for the 2 and 3 star hotels on the side streets. See women hanging around? whores. Be discreet. Fucking will follow. There's a famous fish restaurant called Romero's off the main boulevard - Shot a James Bond flick there. Look for dive pizza joints and other places in that area.

Moroccans equate hotels with brothels.

Be discreet and dont walk around drunk.

Tunisia has some super big tits chicks. But they are all nuts. Avoid.

I've been there in 2007. Pretty decent, but not much more than that.

Went there about 8 years ago. Very nice places to visit are the ruins such as the colosseums and the local markets. Had a nice camel ride too.

But why go to Tunis if you're only after girls? Many much better destinations for that

Tunisia is good for family vacation but not for party and girls.

off road heaven...drive my atv there...fucking kicks ass like no place else...rim of the sahara shit...douz is especially nice, its in the middle of the fucking dessert and probably the most beautiful landscapes you will ever see in your life....I went to where steven spielberg filmed star wars the location is still there....






its fucking unreal....over 20 types of dessert terrain from alien landscapes to tropical oasis-es...lots of nice hookers too...just have to look harder...

Been to tunisia twice, came back from my second trip 3 weeks ago.Amazing place. My advice, get a girlfriend and find a better reason to travel.

Correct. Egypt, Tunisa - never understood why people go for beach vacations there...
Turkey - maybe a bit more cilturalized, but still muslim order..

I've been there once the year before the "Arab spring"... You have to be prepared and have to know where are you going and that is - one developing muslim country in Africa. That should tell you something, right. And that also means - forget about local chicks (unless you want to get into real trouble). On the other side there are really beautiful things to see. If you can go to "desert/Sahara trip" - its a 2 day trip where they put you in SUV and drive you around so you can visit oases, do camel riding, visit really interesting Barber village/family... really interesting. Bring your camera since there you'll be able to make some really beautiful pictures.

Alcohol is/was available to tourists but not to locals. Avoid any talk about politics, religion and such. I would rate country as quite secure. I didn't had any security problems... I've also been into main city, walking, shopping and site seeing on my own without any problems.

Hotels are really crappy. Most of them was built in 80s or so and 5* hotel in there is like 2* or 3* in Europe or so. If you want anything extra or you are not happy with something just tip the hotel staff and that will get you about anything that you need

It's really cheap in there. Most of the prices for tourists are like 3 times bigger than the prices that locals pay. They do not issue bills/receipts and even if they do they will try to scam you so be aware. Do not enter places that do not have price list before entrance.
They can be really annoying when trying to sell something to you. Act uninterested and thank them and they will leave. They had great ice cream

Yes I've been there in 2003 or so w my gf. I put lots of ganja and hash into my airport lugagge: delivered, smoked all, no problem. Buying shit there was not an option, I tried to buy stuff, failed, don't recommend trying. Everybody is very pushy, if you are not a patient guy you'll go mad in a short time [pushy taxi drivers, shop sellers, everyone who tries to make $$$ from toursits] I was thinking holy shit what if they are allowed to drink alcohol? :PP

There was a guy who took off my sunglasses from my face while we were walking.. I turned after him, he rushed in a shop nearby. I went after him, bit scared, wtf! Once I entered the shop he was there, big smile on his face, gave me back my sunglasses and showed around: 'lets buy something from me look what nice things i have!' shit this is crazy!!!

Flora and fauna is very nice, totally different from my homeland in EU.

Streets are dirty, dead cats on the streets/pavements here and there...

Why you want to go there? If you just want to go there for 'cheap hookers' you will waste your time. Most people going to Tunisia wants to see the place where the first StarWords was recorded (one of the locations). IMHO you will find the place really boring.

locals do drink alcohol. Liquor stores open at set times/days unlike normal stores though. I was always waiting in lines of locals to pay for my beers etc. When they don't want to show their face someone else does to buy loads of alcohol for everyone else. Another example of the hypocrisy any religion has.

First, I really can't understand why people are talking so bad about them. It is different culture then western (or European) and you should know that if you are already going there. I was here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sousse and it was fine as long as you know what to expect. If you are staying in hotel complex there are no problems (except someone stole us some money from room and I didn't had safe because my laptop couldn't fit in so I decided not to take it).

Anyway, as I've said, it is Muslim culture (although with strong French influence so they are not that kind of hardcore Allah Snackbar followers today called "rebels" ). I was in front of fight several times when I've went to city because they are frustrated and start loosing their mind when saw my girlfriend ( since she is blonde, it just multiplied their sexual frustration). I guess it is a price of believing into Allah shit and watching covered girls whole life so there were problems with this.

Also, almost had fight with some guy being boring as shit that was trying to force us to take picture with his bird (some eagle or something like that). I've ignored him several times until he started open provocation in English. Then I had to react after what he explained me that I showed disrespect toward him by ignoring him. So if you don't want that kind of logic and experience , don't go there and avoid all those fucking Muslim countries.

If you want to see different culture and enjoy service for small money, it is good place.

One more thing that was crazy: We took some taxi, and guy started picking up people until car was full. Last thing I was expecting . I mean.it happened so fast that you don't understand what is going on. But it seems like normal thing there cine people entering cab were foreigners ,also.

I couldn't eat their food so I was buying pancakes all the time in hotel. Also, I've eat worst pizza ever. and I've went to restaurant to finally find something to eat. Fuck, we couldn't swallow it and waiter was asking is everything fine and ok, constantly. Fucked up situation so I was hiding pizza slices somehow to avoid his boring questions.

What I've also noticed that night in restaurant, are two French girls that waiter managed to charm easily and went to sit with them. It looked as good interracial threesome introduction and I've used that situation to try to hide pizza that I couldn't eat.

I was in Morocco few times...no problems with local people...they are OK in my book..they were honest, hospitable and friendly....you just have to know how to talk with them...

actually I never had any problems with locals as a tourist in any country (and i've been in few so far, almost in every continent)..if you behave like idiot or if you are in fear, the same you will get....

oh and what i can say - moroccan food is GOOD...yet this is not a place to go for girls ;]
